Glue Ear?

So I took the twins in today to get tubes in their ears for chronic ear infections. They did great. Dr. Stan said that Macy has the smallest ear canals his has ever seen...she's such a peanut! He said that they both had glue ear...thick sticky pus that can only be removed surgically. This is probably why the antibiotics wouldn't clear them up. Sophie has also developed some scar tissue from all of the infections. SO happy we got the tubes!!! Pray that we can start having some sick free days!!

Oh...I really got to see a glimpse of the differences in the girls' temperaments today. Sophie happily went back with anyone who wanted to hold her and she woke up from the anesthesia without a sound...actually as soon as she opened her eyes she said "uh oh"...she's so sweet. Macy however needed the "loopy juice" to calm her so that they could get her back (picture 20 month old peanut drunk...so funny) and she woke up a terror. They couldn't have been more opposite!

Christmas # 1

Last weekend after our big holiday party, Grammy and Grampy gave the kids their Christmas presents. Sophie and Macy were very smitten with their new baby dolls. Molly adores her Tinkerbell doll and Jack will not put the Tag reader down. Thanks Grammy and Grampy...you did good.

Later in the week we did our annual gingerbread house construction. Jack and Molly had a blast making a huge mess and eating the candy before they could get it on the house!

SERIOUSLY???

With all of you as my witnesses, if I have to deal with one more booger, snot glob, cough, diarrhea, tummy ache, throw up, teething pain, fever, wheeze or doctor's appointment for any of the above I am going to LOSE MY MIND!!!

Better Late Than Never

In honor of Thanksgiving next week, I decided to finally post some Halloween pictures! Jack's school doesn't celebrate Halloween...instead they have a Parade of Fiction where the kids all dress up as their favorite book character. Jack chose "Skippy Jon Jones" who is a VERY feisty and cute Siamese kitten who thinks he is really a Chiuaua (sp?). If you've never read one of the books, I highly recommend them...very funny! That night we dressed up for Halloween and trick-or-treated with the neighborhood. We ended the night with a pizza party and a Bonn fire.

The family is coming up next week for turkey day so I'll post later!

He's So Stinkin' Cute

Jack gets into the car in carpool today after school. I say, "Hey Buggy! How was your day?" No answer...I turn around and look at him and he's signing. I ask him what's he doing...he finally speaks only to inform me that he is no longer speaking English. From now on he is only signing! Well...okay then! :) He always makes me giggle!

Who's The Wicked Witch?

My daughter...Molly!! She was such a pill for trick-or-treating. Oh wait...the drama started before that when she decided, as I was getting them in their costumes, that she did NOT want to be Dorothy like she had said for the past month! She writhed on the floor and yelled for about 10 minutes until (after I threatened that she would not get to go) she decided to be good old fashioned Snow White! Well fine...time for candy getting! You think she would be pumped up about this right? Well...she fussed and cried until about the last 10 minutes of the hour long process and then proceeded to fuss and whine because it was over. Go figure. Jack had a blast as Bumble Bee the transformer, and our 2 candy corns were a hit. I have to say that Halloween is not my favorite holiday yet! I'll post pix after I charge the battery in my camera!

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!!

Did You Ever Wonder?

Did you ever wonder what really happens when you accidently leave the pantry door open?

Waiting Room

Sophie giving the "goggie" a kiss!

Don't you love it when they LAY on the dirty floor!

Smilin' through the pain :(

Macy says,"You talkin' to me?"

Molly looking a little tired I think.

"Can we go home yet?"

"Are you okay Jaaa?"

"Mommy's gonna scream if I slam this cabinet door again!" ;)

Just had to once again show how she's laying on the dirty floor...uggggh!

Check out the boots!

You know those LONG waits in the pediatrician's office? Well, we beat the boredom by snapping a few pix...enjoy. BTW, we were there because Jack's fever turned out to be strep throat. Knock on wood...no one else has it yet!

HELP!

I'm so tired!!! Jack and Sophie are fired up with fevers and LOTS of crankiness!! I'm just praying that Molly and Macy don't jump on the bandwagon.

KID UPDATE

Macy

Sophie

Jack

Molly

Macy is now the "mean" one! She bites, hits, and scratches and throws herself down into very dramatic fits with her hands over her eyes. However, she is my snuggler and is often giving me hugs and kisses. Sophie is my "tom boy." She loves to throw balls, run and jump. She only snuggles when she feels like it. Molly is as dramatic as ever and does not appreciate being awakened in the mornings. Jack is FULL of random facts and loves to write and spell. His parent/teacher conference is this Thursday so I'll post soon!

Toodles!

I Don't Even Know How To Respond...

The other day I was at school and Jack's WONDERFUL teacher Mrs. Mayo says to me "I am learning so much about your family and how fun you guys are!" Thinking to myself "Oh crap! What happened?" She tells me that the previous day she was bending over and my son pops her on the butt! ONLY my son! She thought it was the funniest thing ever and I was mortified!

HE DID IT!!!!!

Jack had his first performance/play of the year today. It was based on the nursery rhymes and fairy tales that he has studied this month. Mrs. Mayo told me earlier this week that Jack would not say his lines...nope not gonna do it! So I bribed him today with the offer of ice cream after school if he said his lines during the play. Being his father's son he wanted to know ALL his options and asked, "If I only say half of my lines, what do I get?" Well John and I were there cameras ready and Dude did not dissapoint! He sang, he danced, and (drumroll please!!!!) he said both of his lines! I cried, John cried and Mrs. Mayo cried! Needless to say, I don't think he will blossom into our Oscar winner but we are so proud of him and he loved it. He was most tickled by the fact that he made Daddy cry. Mrs. Mayo sent me an e-mail and told me that the class talked about the play afterwards and that the whole class told him how proud they were of him! Mrs. Mayo said that she was still smiling about Jack and that he is AMAZING!! So cool!

I'm gonna try to upload the video so you can check it out.

Doesn't he look so grown up :(

Yes he does brush his teeth...he just ate an OREO before this picture! Gross I know!

Our new friends, and my partner in crime at the pool...Conrad and Lisa

Whoa-is-me...I'm having withdrawl symptoms. I haven't had my lounge chair beside the pool in Kauai for 5 days now. That along without my daily 5 (at least) Lava Flows (yummy) and a great book I'm hurtin' bad! I am REALLY tan though :) John and I had a GREAT time in Hawaii! We stayed at the Marriott in Lihue, Kauai. On Sunday we rented a convertable and drove the island sight seeing. Monday we took an island hopper and went over to Oahu. We hit all the sights that I really wanted John to see...Pearl Harbor, Dole Pineapple Plantation, the blow hole, Pali Lookout, and we ended the day with a hike up Diamond Head (it was MUCH easier when I was a kid)! We flew back to Kauai that night and the rest woould be pretty boring for you...not me...but you ;) I literally spent 5 days lounging at the pool..the beach...the pool from about 8:30 am to about 4pm, drinking Lava Flows, showering and eating! Cool huh? We had a wonderful time and I miss my vacation! Nana and Papa did a bang up job on holding down the fort here with all 4 kids...LOVE YOU!
