Hodge Podge

We've had so much happen this past weekend. First of all, the rooster "Sam" has been successfully reunited with his sweet family. His name is actually Tyson and is happily back at home. We all miss him but they only live up the road so we can visit!

Last Friday, my baby boy graduated from preschool and is officially a kindergartner. He had his ceremony at the church at school where he received a diploma and had a reception afterwards. I know I still have 4 years of preschool ahead of me, but Jack's just my baby :( After graduation we went out to lunch with the families of Jack's friends Gracie and Cole to celebrate.

Later that evening we got on the road for a trip to Myrtle Beach to visit Grammy and Grampy for the weekend. We had a little rain on Saturday morning but other than that it was a beautiful weekend. We went out to dinner at the "YMCA" as Jack called it but it was actually K & W. We went and played the arcade games at the pier and John and I got to go to a movie by ourselves (thanks Grammy and Grampy!!)! The kids went on MANY golf cart rides which they adored and got to ride up to McDonald's for lunch. Jack and Grammy even saved a big box turtle that was stranded at the house and took him back to the creek. John got to go fishing with Grampy 2 mornings and proceeded to FRY his feet by only applying sunscreen to his face and going barefoot in the boat! On Monday morning I really wanted to go to the beach with the kids so Grammy kept Sophie and Macy and John (with bright white socks on) and I took Jack and Molly to the beach. Jack had a great time digging in the sand and Molly hung out on the blanket with John and I because she didn't like the sand!

At about 4pm we got on the road and got stuck in ridiculous traffic so our normally 4 hour trip became 6 hours. It wasn't all bad though...we stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner and the kids were pretty decent. We had a great time this weekend and can't wait to go back!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAMMY!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!

Rooster Update

Sam the rooster spent the entire night last night asleep on the hood of my car. This morning he greeted me at the window with 3 "Cock-a-doodle-doos". He then jumped into my car and sat on Jack's seat when we got home from dropping Jack off at school. Molly and I then went outside to see him and he jumped up into my lap, nested down and FELL ASLEEP!! Then when we were going to pick Jack back up, he jumped back into the car. So he went for a car ride sitting with Molly in her seat the whole time. He clucked a few times but seemed very happy! Jack was tickled when he got in the car at carpool line and the rooster was sitting in the back seat. We may take him to Myrtle Beach this weekend and see if John's mom can find him a good home, and I'm asking around school. Whoops...I better go! Sam is crowing at me from the garage...I think he wants some company :)

Bock Bock

Just wanted to show everyone the newest member of our family ;) Today out from the woods beside our house walks a small rooster. Throughout the day the kids played with it as well as the cat and the dog and it didn't seem to mind any of them. It got stuck in the garage and gratefully allowed me to pick it up and followed us home at the end of the day. The kids fed it some cheerios and it has now settled down for the night on the hood of my car. It obviously is someone's pet but we have no idea where it came from. Do you put up "Found Chicken" signs around the neighborhood?

Weekend in Charleston

Last weekend I packed all 4 kids up and went home to Charleston to visit Nana and Papa and to attend Max's 5th birthday party and Lucy's baptism. The girls decided to trick me into thinking that the whole trip would be a piece of cake. They were SO good on the trip there, but screamed for 2 of the 3 hours on the way back. On Saturday we went to Max's birthday party at the park and then went back to Aunt Staci's to hang out and play. Max got a slip-n-slide for his birthday, and after initial hesitation Jack LOVED it. He was slippin'-n-slidin' all over the place! On Sunday we all went to the church for Lucy's baptism and all I can say is that I felt sorry for the family of the other little girl. Let's just say that with 7 kids 5 and under we are quite the rowdy group!!

Mom and Dad have a wii video game and we had a blast playing bowling, golf, baseball, tennis, and boxing. Jack was a natural and bowled a 141!! Mal and I stayed up until midnight and I was sore for days after. We got lots of yummy food and lots of love and then came home on Mother's Day to Daddy who missed us all very much and who greeted me with a sweet present!

The next couple of weeks will be fun. We have Jack's preschool graduation this Friday and then we are heading to Myrtle Beach for the weekend to visit Grammy and Grampy. I'll post pix when we get back!

P.S. Enjoy these pix from this weekend...most of them are from Papa but some are mine!

Hey There!

We've had a lot going on lately. Lots of beautiful weather, so lots of afternoons spent playing outside until bedtime. We've had t-ball games, snotty noses, coughs, school, work, and lots of play! Last weekend Nana and Papa came up and we all went to the annual NICU reunion for Sophie and Macy. I can't believe it's been a year already! We ran into Nurse Michelle who was the girls' night nurse and into the Brooks family. Ethan and Evan were the girls' roommates while in the hospital. It was fun to see how much they have all grown! Jack ended up being sick the rest of the weekend and then Molly, Sophie & Macy followed close behind him. I'm tired of snot!!! This weekend we are going to Charleston for Cousin Max's birthday and Cousin Lucy's baptism. It will be my first road trip with all 4 by myself ;( I think it will be fine... John has been traveling a lot lately and we look forward to spending some time with him in the next couple of weeks! I'll post after this weekend! Toodles!

Sophie and Macy having their snack in the stroller. With the weather so beautiful they have been having dinner outside a lot as well. Mommy just doesn't want to go in!
